Identify Device Generation
In order to make a swap, you will need to determine the generation of your current device. You can do so by following the steps below.
Not sure which iPhone generation you have?
Go to Settings > General > About > Model Name
1st Generation: A1523, A1722
2nd Generation: A2032, A2031
If your device has iOS 14 or later, try this!
1. Go to Settings > Bluetooth
2. Find your AirPods on the list
3. Press the info button next to your AirPods
4. Find the Model Number
Not iOS 14 or couldn’t find it? Try this.
1. Connect your AirPods to your device
2. Go to Settings> General > About
3. Open lid on your charging case
4. Find your AirPods on the list
5. Tap and find the Model
You can also find the model number in the first line of tiny print on the underside of the AirPods. You might need a magnifying glass to see this. Hint: it's really tiny.
Only found Model Number A1602? This model number corresponds to the 1st Generation charging case, which indicates you likely have 1st Generation AirPod buds.
