If your device has iOS 14 or later, try this!
  1. Go to Settings > Bluetooth
  2. Find your AirPods on the list
  3. Press the info button next to your AirPods
  4. Find the Model Number

1st Generation: A1523, A1722

2nd Generation: A2032, A2031 

 Not iOS 14 or couldn’t find it? Try this.

  1. Connect your AirPods to your device
  2. Go to Settings> General > About
  3. Find your AirPods on the list (make sure your lid is open)
  4. Tap and find the Model Number

1st Generation: A1523, A1722

2nd Generation: A2032, A2031 

Cannot connect AirPods to your device? Try This.

You can also find the model number in the first line of tiny print on the underside of the AirPods. You might need a magnifying glass to see this. *It's really tiny.

Only found Model Number A1602? This model number corresponds to the 1st Generation Charging case, which indicates you likely have 1st Generation AirPod buds.
